What is Opika?


Opika (meaning patience in Telugu) is a nudge to pay attention, a call to be curious and a journey of discovery. Opika asks you, 'what do you notice when you turn down the noise of the world?'

Opika is a platform for exploring and enjoying fermented foods of all kinds. Through our experimental kitchen, we collaborate with our invisible friends (microbes) to infuse complex, edgy flavours into local seasonal produce. We make ferments of all kinds, but specialise in sourdough breads, naturally fermented beverages like kombucha, kefir sodas, tepache and ginger ale and kimchi made with local ingredients.
